Founding GTM Lead Location: San Francisco • Sales • In office • Full-time About Mason AI Mason AI has cracked a research problem that went unsolved for over half a century: how to automatically check blueprints comply with the building codes. The challenge is that over a hundred thousand pages of building codes and referenced standards govern blueprints, and this complexity bottlenecks construction in America. About the Role We’re hiring our founding GTM Lead to build out Mason's full sales cycle and close major deals. You need to be a hunter and a learner. This is a zero‑to‑one role. You'll build the sales deck, GTM stack, onboarding plan, and objection‑handling scripts — all alongside the CEO. Learning comes first : for the first three months, you'll co‑sell with the CEO, with a higher base salary while your pipeline ramps. Expect close, daily collaboration with the CEO and our In‑House Chief Building Official on pricing, distribution, qualification criteria, and messaging. What You’ll Do We have a small, known universe of prospects who fit our ICP. Very little of your time will be spent on prospecting, and most of your time will be spent on high‑touch sales conversations earning trust, including outbound (via warm intros, events, office visits) and closing discovery calls into paying, referenceable customers. Expect biweekly travel. Write down what works and build the first sales playbooks (messaging, objection handling, sequences) As we grow: build a sales team within a year that executes on your playbook. This is a career‑defining role and a chance to write your next chapter at an AI‑native startup. What Makes You a Fit You have gone 0→1 with B2B SaaS sales for either a new company or a new product within an existing company. Hunter: you are a competitive closer who has won net new logos at the mid‑market or enterprise level AI‑Pilled: you see AI is about to change work fundamentally, and you're game to learn new workflows You must be bought into Mason's vision of transforming how America builds. What Success Looks Like Over Months 1-3 Hit the books and get in front of customers. You need to speak the language of our customer. Win three mid‑market logos and convert them into referenceable customers Run experiments on pricing, messaging, and distribution that help us craft a repeatable sales formula Over Months 3–12 You win a six‑figure expansion with at least one customer You help recruit new members of your sales org and empower them with a repeatable playbook Benefits Competitive salary ($180,000 - $250,000 OTE). You’ll showcase using the product, and we'll have you address common objections. Roadmap Debate (60 min) – Propose two 60‑day roadmaps for building a repeatable sales formula at Mason. We'll share a brain dump of ideas for your consideration. Come prepared with a written brief outlining both roadmaps, a clear recommendation, and we'll debate it live. Reference checks (3 days) – We'll ask you for two references, and we'll also run a back‑channel reference check. Reverse interview (90 min; in‑person) – The founding team will buy you dinner in San Francisco (commute expenses reimbursed), and you will ask us the questions.
