Job Summary:
The Pediatric/Neonatal Critical Care Transport Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care during ground transportation of infants and pediatric patients requiring higher levels of care. This role involves collaboration with respiratory therapists and advanced practice providers to safely transfer patients from surrounding hospitals, emergency rooms, labor and delivery units, and NICUs to a tertiary care facility. The RN must have experience in pediatric/neonatal critical care transport and the ability to function effectively in dynamic and urgent environments. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license valid in the state of practice, including compact license recognition.
- Minimum of 2 years pediatric/neonatal nursing experience, including ground transport experience.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills in pediatric and neonatal populations.
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration abilities.
- Charge nurse experience in pediatric or neonatal critical care settings.
- Experience working in NICU, PICU, or pediatric inpatient units.
- Must be able to float to bedside nursing roles in NICU, PICU, or pediatric units as needed.
- No on-call requirements; however, flexibility to cover shifts and transport assignments is expected.
- Position supports ground transportation within the Seattle area and surrounding hospitals.
- Candidates separated from previous non-Swedish Providence facilities for at least 3 months are eligible for travel contracts.
- Work schedule consists of three 12-hour night shifts (1900-0700) per week.
- Work every other weekend.
