You'll handle fund accounting, reporting, budgeting, assessments, and audit support—blending accounting expertise with client service.This role suits someone who enjoys owning financial processes, juggling priorities, and collaborating through clear communication.Key Responsibilities of the Accounting SpecialistMaintain accurate general ledger records for assigned homeowners' associations.Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including vendor invoices and homeowner assessments.Reconcile bank accounts, reserve accounts, and investment statements.Manage homeowner billing, collections, late fees, payment plans, and special assessments.Prepare monthly financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, variance reports, and supporting schedules.Assist with annual budgets, reserve studies, forecasting, audits, reviews, and tax filing support.Respond professionally to financial inquiries from Board Members, homeowners, and Property Managers.Maintain accurate records within HOA accounting systems and document management platforms.Qualifications for the Accounting SpecialistAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred2+ years of accounting experience; HOA or property management accounting experience strongly preferredStrong Excel skills; pivot tables, vlookups.Who Thrives as the Accounting SpecialistThe ideal Accounting Specialist is organized, detail-oriented, and customer-focused, with experience managing multiple entities, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and supporting communities and stakeholders.
