Registered Nurse (RN) – Clinic/Ambulatory Pediatrics

Location: New York, NY 10016
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 18 Weeks
Shift: Day | 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Schedule: 5x7.5 Hours | 37.5 Hours/Week
Local Candidates: Accepted
Traveler Candidates: Accepted

Pay Rate:
Local: $60–$66/hr
Traveler: $60–$66/hr

Required Qualifications:

• Active New York State RN license — Required
• Primary Source Verification of RN license and registration through NYSED — Required
• ASN/ADN from an accredited nursing program; BSN accepted
• AHA BLS certification — Required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg or clinic experience
• Pediatric nursing experience — Preferred
• IV insertion and phlebotomy skills — Required
• Experience with pediatric medication administration and weight-based dosing
• Immunization administration experience — Preferred
• Strong pediatric assessment, triage, and clinical judgment skills
• Proficiency with EHR documentation and ambulatory clinic workflows
• Strong communication skills with pediatric patients, families, and healthcare teams

Responsibilities:

• Provide safe and age-appropriate nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents
• Perform pediatric assessments and triage patients based on symptoms and acuity
• Administer medications, including weight-based pediatric medications
• Administer routine childhood and adolescent immunizations
• Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy as required
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond to urgent or emergency needs
• Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatment plans, preventive care, and follow-up
• Assist providers with clinical procedures
• Maintain accurate and timely EHR documentation
• Coordinate follow-up care, referrals, and diagnostic testing
• Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
• Follow infection prevention, patient-safety, hospital, and pediatric nursing standards
