RECREATION THERAPIST (BA)- Per Diem

Activity Therapist - PER DIEM At Del Amo Behavioral Health System, a subsidiary of UHS, we provide a safe and compassionate environment for people with mental, emotional, and addiction challenges. This role supervises and coordinates activities for patients in the Adjunctive Therapy program to facilitate rehabilitation and foster skill development. Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate the activities of patients in the Adjunctive Therapy program. Organize and conduct music, art, recreation, or other therapeutic programs based on specialty. Direct patient participation in selected tasks to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. Facilitate learning of essential adaptive and productive skills, reduce pathology, promote and maintain health. Follow policies, procedures, standards, and objectives for patient treatment and comply with performance improvement programs. Qualifications Education: Degree in Recreation, Music, Art, or appropriate program required. Experience: Minimum one (1) year experience in a psychiatric setting preferred. Working knowledge of psychiatric processes and their relationship to arts, crafts, sports, games, and small/large group activities preferred.
