The Bobby R. Alford Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery is in search of a Coordinator, Patient Support Services to join our growing clinical team. This position will positively contribute to our patients' experience by communicating with professionalism and compassion, and serving as a liaison to the department. The Coordinator will provide clinical support by managing surgical schedules, reaching out to patients regarding referrals, pre-operative instructions, and appointments. They will work closely with departmental clinical staff, as well as partners in BCM's business office, and will regularly interact with affiliate hospital staff.

Job Duties:

• Enters and maintains patient records.
• Enters orders for patient tests and obtains proper paperwork.
• Corresponds with patient's referring physician as needed.
• Reviews referral data and ensures all referral loops are being closed in an effective and timely manner.
• Provides direct administrative and scheduling support to Otolaryngology faculty.
• Serves as primary surgery scheduler, optimizing operating room utilization and aligning surgeon, facility, and patient.
• Manages calls and messages as needed.
• Maintains a positive patient experience.
• Manages and coordinates incoming patient referrals as needed.
• Enters orders for patient tests under direction of MD/NP/PA.
• Takes inventory of clinic supplies and order supplies as needed.
• Maintains exam room stock daily.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A relevant degree may be considered in lieu of experience.
• Prior customer service experience.
• Surgery scheduling experience.
