Job Details

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of plaintiff personal injury litigation matters.
• Develop litigation strategy and evaluate case value, liability, and damages.
• Draft and file complaints, pleadings, motions, oppositions, and other court filings.
• Handle all phases of written discovery, including:
• Interrogatories
• Requests for Production
• Requests for Admission
• Analyze discovery responses and supporting documents to identify deficiencies and strategic opportunities.
• Prepare discovery responses and collaborate directly with clients to gather necessary information and documentation.
• Conduct meet-and-confer efforts regarding discovery disputes.
• Prepare and argue motions to compel when necessary.
• Prepare clients for depositions and participate in deposition proceedings.
• Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case status and litigation strategy.
• Manage all litigation deadlines, court appearances, hearings, and discovery schedules.
• Ensure compliance with California procedural rules and court requirements.
• Collaborate with support staff, case managers, paralegals, legal assistants, and pre-litigation teams.
• Identify opportunities to move matters toward favorable settlement, mediation, or trial.
• Proactively advance cases with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar and in good standing.
• 5+ years of plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of California civil procedure and discovery practice.
• Demonstrated experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and meet-and-confer correspondence.
• Ability to independently manage cases from filing through resolution.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced litigation environment.
• Self-starter mentality with the ability to take initiative and ownership.
• Collaborative team player who can also work independently.
