Sr. Manager of Avionics Manufacturing

EnduroSat Inc. is looking for a Manager of Avionics Manufacturing, reporting to the VP of Manufacturing and Test, to lead the build and test of avionics systems for our satellite platforms. This is a full-time, exempt, on-site position based in our Carson, CA facility. 

Responsibilities 

• Lead the Avionics Manufacturing team, overseeing assembly builds, fabrication, and functional testing 

• Collaborate with design teams on manufacturability and assembly of avionics components, wire harnesses, and batteries 

• Own and coordinate Bill of Materials for avionics assemblies and components 

• Support Responsible Engineers with failure analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations 

• Optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, and cost 

• Create and maintain manufacturing plans, assembly procedures, and work instructions 

• Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality components; review and approve supplier processes 

• Perform hands-on assembly, integration, and testing per engineering specifications 

• Participate in design reviews, contributing input on manufacturability and reliability 

• Partner with quality assurance to establish rigorous quality control processes 

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the manufacturing line 

• Meet production schedules while adapting to shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment 

Minimum Qualifications 

• Track record leading a high-performing avionics manufacturing team in aerospace or a related field 

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field 

• 7+ years in manufacturing engineering, ideally in avionics, with 3+ years in a leadership role 

• Experience manufacturing within a quality system such as AS9100 or ISO9001 

• 3+ years managing, mentoring, and developing a team 

Preferred Skills & Experience 

• Strong understanding of avionics systems, electronics manufacturing, and assembly techniques 

• CAD experience (e.g., Siemens NX) for design review 

• Experience authoring manufacturing documentation (SOPs, work orders) 

• Familiarity with IPC standards and related regulations 

• Strong root-cause problem-solving skills 

• Hands-on testing/troubleshooting experience 

• Knowledge of lean manufacturing / Six Sigma 

Additional Requirements 

• Willingness to work overtime or weekends to support critical milestones 

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
