Make a difference in a student’s life as a Sign Language Interpreter working 1:1 with a third-grade learner in a school-based contract position near Saint Paul, MN. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about supporting students’ access to education and facilitating communication in an inclusive learning environment. The assignment runs from August 24, 2026, through June 3, 2027, providing you with a consistent and rewarding school-year experience.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum EIPA score of 4.0 (required)
- Valid certification and licensure for Sign Language Interpreting
- Experience supporting students in educational settings, preferably at the elementary level
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Dedication to supporting student independence and classroom engagement
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct sign language interpreting services for a third-grade student in all classroom and school-based settings
- Facilitate communication between the student, peers, teachers, and other staff members
- Ensure confidentiality and impartiality in all interpreting interactions
- Adapt interpretation style and methods to meet the student’s individual needs
- Collaborate with educators and support teams to promote student academic and social success
- Maintain accurate records and participate in required meetings or training sessions as needed
