Staff Accountant

Position Summary BroadStreet Partners is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our Finance team in Houston, Texas. This position will play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and contributing to the overall success of the organization. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and eager to grow within a fast-paced, expanding company. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced finance professionals while gaining exposure to a large and growing national organization. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports. Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies. Process accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed asset activity. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed. Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports. Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation. Participate in audit preparation and collaborate with external auditors. Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. Support budgeting, forecasting, and special projects as assigned. Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and agency partners throughout the organization. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred. Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Public accounting experience is a plus.
