Role Description The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive mental health care, including psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing medication management for individuals across the lifespan. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting in-person patient visits, ordering and interpreting relevant diagnostic tests, maintaining thorough clinical documentation, and collaborating closely with psychiatrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care. The role also involves educating patients and families about treatment options, monitoring progress, adjusting care plans as needed, and participating in case discussions to enhance outcomes. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Brooklyn, NY, within Vivant Mind’s modern clinical space. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Mental Health Nursing and Nursing, with strong clinical assessment and patient care skills. Current licensure and certification as a Nurse Practitioner, with experience practicing in mental health or behavioral health settings. Proficiency in Mental Health Care and Psychiatric Care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment of psychiatric conditions. Ability to provide care as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, including safe medication management and crisis intervention. Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited institution; board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, with a commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and gender-neutral care. Experience working in an outpatient psychiatric or integrative mental health practice is beneficial.
