Purchasing Agent – Onsite, Danbury, CT Key responsibilities include managing sourcing activities, supplier relationships, procurement activities for product development, and cross‑functional initiatives. Responsibilities Maintain close relationships with suppliers in assigned commodities and proactively resolve issues. Execute all purchasing activities related to product development within specified commodities. Act as liaison between suppliers and plants, coordinating with Value Stream Management. First point of escalation from Outdoor plants for all supplier‑related shortages. Identify gaps in existing supply base relative to future product development. Communicate needs to the Regional Procurement Manager to support projects. Bring approved suppliers into development projects. Monitor price changes and manage approval of changes and implementations. Support cross‑functional initiatives around total cost improvements and supply vulnerability reductions. Perform purchasing activities in accordance with company policies and procedures. Tackle moderate‑scope problems and apply judgment within defined procedures. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in business/related field or equivalent experience. 3‑5 years of professional purchasing experience. Preferred commodity experience: Electrical, motors, bearings, plastic resins/injection molding, powdered metal, hardware, packaging. Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP/MRP systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. High degree of creativity, flexibility, and resourcefulness for win‑win resolutions. Details Base pay range: $68,600 – $110,515 per year , based on location, skills, and experience. Sign‑on payment may be provided along with a full benefits package.
