Procurement Manager

Role Description The Procurement Manager is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Danbury, CT, responsible for overseeing all purchasing activities to support Wooster School’s operational and strategic needs. This role manages the end‑to‑end procurement process, including identifying requirements, sourcing goods and services, evaluating suppliers, and negotiating contracts to ensure value, quality, and timely delivery. The Procurement Manager will develop and maintain supplier relationships, monitor contract performance and compliance, and collaborate with academic, administrative, and facilities teams to align purchases with budget and policy. Day‑to‑day tasks include analyzing spend data, preparing purchase orders, maintaining procurement records, and continuously improving procurement practices to support the school’s mission and stewardship of resources. Qualifications Strong procurement and purchasing experience, including end‑to‑end procurement process management. Proficiency in supplier evaluation and vendor performance assessment to ensure quality, reliability, and value. Demonstrated ability in contract negotiation to secure favorable terms, pricing, and service levels. Experience with contract management, including monitoring compliance, renewals, and risk mitigation. Solid analytical skills for cost analysis, budgeting, and data‑driven decision‑making. Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across academic and operational teams. High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to ethical, transparent procurement practices. Experience in education, nonprofit, or mission‑driven organizations is beneficial.
