About the Position

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 18 months MedSurg/Tele RN experience License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Basic Med/Tele skillset including cardiac rhythm interpretation. Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone). Wound care and drain/tube management expertise. PIV starts and central line management capabilities. Description: RN position available in the Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. The facility has a total of 241 licensed beds and provides Level 3 trauma care. Common patient diagnoses include stroke, respiratory illnesses, renal failure, and wounds. Average patient census is 32, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6, and surge staffing allowing for ratios of 1:7-8. Supporting staff includes CNAs for assistance with activities of daily living, mobility, and feeding. Other support roles include hospitalists, intensivists, and 24/7 telemetry monitoring. Telehealth technology includes virtual nursing capabilities for enhanced patient monitoring. Travelers may be required to float to other facilities within the region and must be willing to adapt to changing needs. Weekend rotation every other week, with holiday expectations to work 75% of holidays. The unit culture emphasizes teamwork, patient-centered care, and a fun work environment.
