Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Basic Med/Tele skillset including cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone), wound care, drain/tube management, PIV starts, and central line management. Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit. This position involves caring for a diverse patient population. Common diagnoses include strokes, respiratory illnesses, renal failure, and wounds. The unit has 32 beds with an average census of 32 patients per day. Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:5-6 but may surge to 1:7-8. Support staff includes certified nursing assistants to assist with activities of daily living. There is also access to a 24/7 hospitalist, intensivist, and telemetry monitoring. Technology in use includes an electronic medical record system and various nursing equipment. Travelers may be required to float to other facilities as needed. There is a weekend rotation with the possibility of being called back during low census. Expectations include working 75% of holidays. Requests for time off can be approved up to 6 days, excluding holidays. The unit culture is patient-centered and promotes teamwork among staff.
