Payroll & General Ledger Accountant

Location: Brevard County, FL (On-site)

Type: Full-time / Permanent

Venture Personnel is partnering with an established, growing company in Brevard County on a confidential search for a Senior Accountant. This is a hands-on role for someone who likes owning a process from start to finish. You'll run payroll, oversee Accounts Payable, and play a key part in the monthly close.

What you'll do

• Own weekly payroll from start to finish for a large employee base, including reviewing hours, checking every run before it goes out, reconciling payroll to the GL, and booking the payroll entries and month-end accruals
• Prepare a monthly labor forecast
• Supervise the Accounts Payable function, approve weekly check runs, and oversee vendor statement reconciliations and billing discrepancies
• Find and put in place process improvements that strengthen controls and efficiency
• Perform bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Review cost accounting and assign accounts to purchase requisitions
• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3–5+ years of general accounting experience
• 2+ years of hands-on payroll processing
• Experience supervising or overseeing Accounts Payable
• Strong Excel skills and experience with an ERP or accounting system
• Sharp attention to detail and the discretion to handle confidential information
• Clear communication and comfort working with Finance, HR and outside vendors
• Cost accounting or job costing experience is a plus
