About the Role

A high-growth, private equity-backed software organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to support month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, audit support, and accounting process improvement initiatives across a growing multi-entity environment.

This is a hands-on role for an accountant who enjoys owning areas of the close process, preparing financial statements, solving accounting challenges, and helping improve systems and processes in a growing organization. The company has grown significantly through acquisition and continues to invest in automation, transformation, and scalable accounting infrastructure.

The ideal candidate has experience in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable working across multiple entities, and enjoys balancing recurring accounting responsibilities with project-based work.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

• Own portions of the monthly close process, including journal entries, accruals, account analyses, and reconciliations
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding items
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and management reporting packages
• Analyze financial results and investigate significant fluctuations or variances
• Maintain accurate general ledger activity and supporting documentation

General Accounting Operations

• Support day-to-day accounting activities across multiple business units and legal entities
• Prepare account reconciliations and maintain accounting schedules
• Assist with intercompany accounting activities and ensure balances are properly supported
• Support maintenance of accounting structures and reporting integrity within the ERP system
• Participate in special accounting projects and operational initiatives

Acquisitions & Business Growth

• Support accounting activities related to newly acquired businesses and organizational changes
• Assist with integration projects, chart of account mapping, and accounting process transitions
• Help maintain consistency across accounting processes within a growing organization

Audit & Compliance

• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
• Respond to audit requests and assist with year-end audit activities
• Support internal controls and accounting policy compliance
• Assist with special reporting and regulatory requirements as needed

Process Improvement & Automation

• Participate in accounting transformation and automation initiatives
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting processes
• Support ERP optimization projects and accounting workflow improvements
• Leverage technology and AI-enabled tools where appropriate to improve productivity

Business Partnership

• Partner with operational and business leaders on accounting questions and financial results
• Support management with reporting, analysis, and accounting guidance
• Act as a trusted accounting resource across the organization

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Experience owning or significantly participating in a monthly close process
• Experience preparing financial statements or supporting financial reporting activities
• Strong general ledger and account reconciliation experience
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience working within an ERP system
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Preferred

• Public accounting foundation followed by industry accounting experience
• Multi-entity accounting experience
• Experience in private equity-backed organizations
• Experience within software, technology, or recurring revenue businesses
• Sage Intacct experience
• CPA or CPA candidate
• Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, ERP migrations, or accounting transformation projects
• Interest in automation, process improvement, and AI-enabled workflows
