Network Administrator

Position Overview Working at the direction of the Government Lead Network Administrator, the Network Administrator is responsible for administering FPI network resources and access across a secure federal environment. This role encompasses network installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure continuous and compliant network operations. Location Location: Central Office (Washington, DC); Hybrid Remote Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain computer networks and systems under direction of the Government Lead Network Administrator Identify, diagnose, and resolve network and system performance issues Assemble new network systems and decommission obsolete equipment Maintain and upgrade existing network hardware and software Monitor network performance and develop improvement recommendations Coordinate with IT support staff to resolve network-related incidents Provide network administration and support for UNICOR facilities Administer network access controls and user access in compliance with DOJ policies Document network configurations and maintain accurate network diagrams Submit weekly status reports and support delivery requirements under the QASP Required Qualifications Minimum 7 years of networking experience Experience installing and configuring routers, switches, hubs, and network infrastructure Proficiency with network monitoring tools and performance optimization Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, DNS, DHCP, and VPN Excellent communication skills; ability to work with both technical and non-technical personnel Preferred Qualifications / Substitutions CompTIA Network+ Certification may substitute for 2 years of required networking experience Cisco CCNA Certification may substitute for 3 years of required networking experience Experience in a federal or DOJ environment Familiarity with FISMA, NIST SP 800-53, and federal network security standards Security Clearance Requirement All candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain a Public Trust clearance prior to commencing work under this contract. Candidates must: Have legally resided in the United States for three of the five years immediately preceding performance Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident seeking U.S. citizenship Be willing to complete e-QIP (Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing) Successfully complete fingerprinting (FD-258), OF-306, and all DOJ security documentation Comply with DOJ self-reporting requirements throughout the period of performance Employment Terms Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8-hour shift (start between 6:30 AM – 8:30 AM EST) Work Model: Hybrid remote/on-site; primary remote with occasional travel Hours: approx. 40 hours/week Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour Benefits: Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Application Question(s) Do you have experience working with DOJ?
