Diesel Technician

Overview Position : Mid-Level Diesel Technician Location : Lebanon, Tennessee Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician to provide service for heavy-duty vehicles with a focus on reliability and quality workmanship. The role offers weekly pay and comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties Performs standard vehicle maintenance and inspections Conducts preventive maintenance and diagnoses mechanical and electronic issues using diagnostic tools when applicable Identifies root causes of failures and performs repairs as required Replaces defective components as instructed Performs facility maintenance duties as needed Interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the issue Uses Shop Management System and electronic documentation Works in accordance with applicable safety, DOT, MOT, and corporate compliance guidelines Supports additional duties to sustain operations Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred Vocational/technical certification or degree preferred Basic tools required Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work) Two years or more of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred) Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A (preferred) Driver and Screening Expectations Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire Pass a Ryder drug test, a DOT physical, a Ryder road test, and a Ryder background and motor vehicle check (last 3 years) Benefits Medical, dental, vision after 30 days 80 hours PTO in the first year, starting Day 1 Yearly merit pay increases 401(k) company match PPE, uniforms, and boot allowance Paid training to stay current Safety-first workplace and state-of-the-art equipment Top Tech Competition: potential earnings between $250 – $50,000 per year U.S. military veterans – extra paid day off 15% company stock discount Up to $5,000 in tech tuition repayment 12 weeks paid maternity leave (subject to eligibility, including tenure) Employee discounts on tools, vehicles, travel, tech, and more Click Here to See All Ryder Careers: Ryder is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free workplace.
