Job Description Analytical Scientist The Analytical Scientist is responsible for the implementation of analytical procedures in support of sample testing, method development, method qualification/transfer/validation, GMP/n‑GMP production, reference material program, metrology, and stability testing with particular emphasis on LC, GC, LC‑MS, GC‑MS, NMR, XRD and ICP‑MS methods for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) for small molecules and peptides. The role includes analytical method development, qualification, method transfer, validations and sample analysis on a variety of analytical techniques with respect to potent compounds. Core Responsibilities Perform method development activities, draft method qualification/validation protocols and instrument qualification procedures. Transfer, validate, and qualify analytical methods. Perform sample analysis, interpret results, and review data packages. Test for qualification and re‑qualification of reference materials. Document all analyses per SOPs. Prepare high‑quality written documentation (protocols, notebooks, CoTs, summary reports, SOPs, and analytical reports). Troubleshoot analytical instrumentation. Qualify instrument software and communicate with vendors. Communicate effectively in verbal and written form on research results and plans. Volunteer to assist with tasks not directly related to a specific project. Demonstrate initiative in handling responsibilities. Contribute to the technical growth of the department and company. Participate in self‑development activities. Perform any other duties within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed. Qualifications PhD in Analytical Chemistry or equivalent with at least 1 year of related experience in analytical development (R&D and method qualification/validation) within the pharmaceutical industry. Experience with common analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, LC‑MS, GC‑MS, NMR, UV, KF, FTIR, XRPD, and ICP‑MS. Experience in method development and validation for small molecules/peptide active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) preferred. Experience in a cGMP environment. Ability to write clear and concise technical reports. Good understanding of Microsoft Office and statistical software. Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions quickly.
