Job Description – Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Travel)

Shift: Day Shift – 5x8-Hour (07:00 AM – 03:30 PM)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a leading Level I Trauma and Teaching Hospital. The technologist will perform a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine and PET/CT procedures for adult and geriatric populations, with occasional pediatric cases.

This is a fast-paced acute care environment with advanced imaging technology and multidisciplinary collaboration.

• Shift Hours: 07:00 AM – 03:30 PM
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
• Assignment Length: Minimum 10 weeks
• Call Requirement: Minimal
  • Weekdays: 4:00 PM – 6:00 AM
  • Weekends: 24-hour call coverage (6:00 AM – 6:00 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: None
• Floating: No floating to sister facilities or within scope
• Block Scheduling: May be considered but not guaranteed
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted
• Pending State License: Accepted

• ARRT (R)
• BLS Certification

RQI certifications are not accepted.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Nuclear Medicine experience required
• Experience in outpatient and inpatient settings preferred

• IV starts and peripheral IV maintenance
• Phlebotomy and venous blood draws
• PACS systems
• Safe handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials
• Cardiac imaging
• SPECT and PET/CT imaging
• Therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures

Compliance Requirements

• COVID-19 vaccination required
  • Religious and medical exemptions accepted
  • Medical exemptions must include provider-signed exemption form

Important Notes

• No local candidates within 100 miles
• Requests for time off greater than 7 days require approval
• Facility may call off up to 3 shifts during a 13-week assignment
• Travelers who complete 4 consecutive assignments or reach 1 year of service must take a 6-month break before returning
