Sous Chef

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of the kitchen, working closely with the Chef De Cuisine (CDC) to ensure the highest quality dishes are prepared for our guests. Duties:

• Assist the CDC in menu planning, food preparation, and food production to maintain a high standard of quality.
• Oversee the daily operation of the kitchen, ensuring that all food safety guidelines are met and that all kitchen staff are following established procedures.
• Supervise and mentor the kitchen team, providing guidance and training as needed to ensure excellent performance.
• Manage inventory, monitor inventory control, and make recommendations for improvement.
• Coordinate and manage the flow of food production to ensure timely delivery to the dining area.
• Work closely with the Dietary Department to accommodate special dietary requests and maintain compliance with dietary regulations.
• Develop and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety standards.
• Perform shift management tasks, including managing labor costs, scheduling, and ensuring that all kitchen staff are working efficiently and effectively.

Skills:

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior culinary role.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, food production, and food safety principles.
• Ability to manage inventory and control food costs.
• Excellent leadership and supervisory skills.
• Experience in the food industry with a focus on high-quality food and exceptional customer service.
• Familiarity with dietary department protocols and regulations.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Certification in food safety and handling is a plus.
