About the Role

The Company is in search of a Vice President of Development to join its executive leadership team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading integrated strategies across development, marketing, grants, and community engagement. This role involves overseeing the organization's fundraising strategy, including grassroots fundraising, donor communications, and community-based giving, as well as leading the grant strategy from prospecting to funder relationships. The VP will also be tasked with developing and overseeing marketing and communications strategy, brand positioning, digital presence, and organizational storytelling. Building and maintaining relationships with various external stakeholders is a key aspect of the position, as is the management of staff, consultants, and external partners. Applicants for the Vice President of Development position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) and 7-10+ years of progressive leadership experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, marketing, communications, grants, or community engagement. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in leading fundraising and/or grant strategies with measurable results, as well as experience in building relationships with diverse populations and community-based organizations. The VP will be expected to establish departmental goals, budgets, KPIs, and performance measures, and to serve as a senior representative of the organization within the community. Certification in CPR and First Aid, as well as a valid California driver's license, are also necessary for this position.
