Cultivation Technician I

The Cultivation Tech I position supports day‑to‑day cultivation operations in the stocking and upkeep of a medical cannabis production facility. Cultivation activities span the entire production cycle of the plant, from propagation through harvest. The ideal candidate will thrive as a team member within a medical grade horticultural environment where attention to detail, speed, physical demand, and regulatory compliance are critical. Key Responsibilities Participate individually and in small teams for general cultivation duties: pruning, training, transplanting, moving plants, watering, applications, potting, harvesting, sanitation of equipment, and post‑harvest processing. Collaborate effectively with coworkers on group work; maintain a culture of continuous improvement as a cohesive team. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Execute cultivation techniques consistently. Ensure compliance with worker protection standards (WPS) and company/SOP/GACP/GMP guidelines. Input documentation as required and follow state and company guidelines. Coordinate work patterns and directives from leads. Maintain an inventory of necessary equipment for tasks. Ensure crop‑scheduled events are completed and documented. Take direction, stay organized, and remain detail‑oriented with good judgment in raising issues to leadership. Complete coursework designated in the “Fluent Sessions” training program. Qualifications & Skills Basic math skills. High school diploma (required); bachelor’s degree or formal education in horticulture, plant science, botany, etc. (preferred). Prior nursery, landscaping, and/or agricultural experience. Experience in the medical cannabis industry or other alternative healthcare organizations. Plant biology and horticulture knowledge. Communication proficiency. Organizational skills. Problem solving/analysis. Results‑driven attitude. Technical capacity and aptitude. Punctuality. Physical Demands Extended periods of standing, bending, reaching, and high‑dexterity functions are required. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and repeatedly carry 15–20 pounds at a time. Maneuvering between growing spaces that are 24 inches apart is also necessary. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a full‑time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (hours are subject to change). No travel is expected. Required Education and Experience Basic math skills. High school diploma. Preferred education: bachelor’s degree or formal education in horticulture, plant science, botany, etc. Prior nursery, landscaping, and/or agricultural experience. Experience in medical cannabis industry or other alternative healthcare organizations. Any technical certifications. Other Duties In addition to the core responsibilities, the employee may be asked to assist in other departments depending on company needs.
