What’s the Role

The Purchasing Assistant supports the daily operations of both the Purchasing and Warehouse departments at our Sacramento, CA facility. This position helps maintain accurate records, track inventory, and process purchase orders. You will work closely with the Purchasing and Warehouse managers and other departments to ensure materials and supplies are available when needed. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, has strong communication and Excel skills, and can manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Own

• Provide daily administrative support, including answering phone calls, filing, and maintaining records
• Enter, update, and close purchase orders accurately and on time
• Maintain product specifications, vendor approval files, and regulatory documents
• Assist with inventory counts, tracking supplies, and placing replenishment orders
• Update and maintain warehouse inventory and purchasing cost spreadsheets
• Work with your immediate manager and other departments to support daily operations

Requirements:

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GED required
• At least one year of purchasing or office administrative experience preferred
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Good verbal and written communication skills; bilingual English/Spanish preferred

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday
• Ability to use computers and standard office equipment
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds
• Ability to occasionally work in refrigerated areas around 37&degree;F
