Operations Supervisor

Summary The Operations Supervisor assists the Operations Manager in managing operations and personnel for a shift of a particular location. The supervisor oversees shift staff, ensures business objectives and labor requirements are met, and balances financial, operating, quality, safety, and asset targets. Essential Functions Workflow Management: Work analysis, planning, scheduling; assign tasks, productivity tracking, shift and shop meetings, RO review and approval; manage warranty policies; triage unscheduled customer drive‑ins. Labor Management: Train, develop and manage all personnel; performance management. Customer Management: Maintain customer relationships, issue resolutions, satisfaction, retention, vehicle uptime; schedule and follow‑up PMs, breakdowns and vehicle status updates; conduct customer visits per the Customer Care Plan. Asset Management: Direct direct reports in maintaining location appearance and standards; recommend shop tooling; oversee vehicle in‑service/out‑service processes; manage parts inventory policies. Quality Management: Inspect PM & repairs; conduct in‑process reviews; root cause analysis and corrective actions; ensure cleanliness and quality; train technicians; develop QA audit, corrective action and continuous improvement programs; maintain documentation for regulatory compliance. Financial Management: Deliver shift/shop against Net Maintenance Cost per Unit objectives; control maintenance budget; P&L; execute maintenance initiatives; payroll, purchase orders, invoice and fuel reconciliation; customer bill‑back process; ensure data integrity in the Shop Management Online system. Additional Responsibilities: Perform duties assigned by management. Skills and Abilities Professional representation of Ryder and customer interaction. Strong vehicle diagnostics/repair knowledge (preferred). Intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Associate's degree preferred or 1–3 years of experience in a maintenance operations environment. Bachelor's degree preferred or 1–3 years of experience in a maintenance operations environment. Maintenance and technical experience in a shop environment required. Supervisory experience preferred. Shop Management System experience preferred. DOT regulated status required. Compensation Pay Type: Salaried Minimum Pay Range: 71,500 Maximum Pay Range: 71,500 Benefits Health, prescription, dental, vision, life insurance and disability coverage.
