If you're as passionate about your future as we are, join our team.KPMG is currently seeking a Director, Market Relationship to join our Tax organization.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain relationships with founders, C-suite executives, board members, investors, and alumni across emerging growth and private market accounts and represent the firm externally through selective participation in market events and initiativesOriginate and expand business opportunities across existing and new clients, with a focus on greenfield accountsDrive defined market growth objectives, including pipeline development, revenue influence, and referral generation; track and report progress against quarterly and annual goalsMaintain market intelligence by monitoring funding activity, exits, leadership changes, emerging subsectors, and competitive dynamics within the startup and investor ecosystemDevelop strategic relationships with Venture Capital and Private Equity firms, including GPs, LPs, and platform leaders, to drive referrals and ecosystem-driven opportunitiesCoordinate with partners and engagement teams to align pursuit strategy and account planning and contribute to proposal and pursuit effortsAct with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold KPMG's respectful and courteous work environmentQualifications:Minimum eight years of recent progressive experience in the emerging growth ecosystem, including business development or client relationship roles focused on financial or professional servicesBachelor's degree from an accredited college/university required (business or related field preferred)Developing network within the local Bay Area market and the broader private-company ecosystem, with relationships with venture capital and private equity professionalsExperience building relationships with C-suite executives and boards, and a track record of identifying and advancing new business opportunitiesAbility to understand and communicate business and financial concepts, including fundraising dynamics, capital structure alternatives, and growth-stage challenges.Willingness to travel as business needs requireApplicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future; KPMG LLP will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work visa status for this opportunity (no sponsorship is available for H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, F-1, J-1, OPT, CPT or any other employment-based visa)KPMG LLP and its subsidiaries (“KPMG”) complies with all local/state regulations regarding displaying salary ranges.
