Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Surgery - General/Other in Berlin, NH Doctor of Medicine | Surgery - General/Other Location: Berlin, NH Employer: Wellhart, LLC Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: 11/27/2026 About the Position We are actively seeking a dedicated Physician specializing in General Surgery for a 14‑day assignment in New Hampshire, starting Nov 27, 2026. This role involves comprehensive general surgery, with a strong emphasis on endoscopy, offering the broad scope of practice found in a typical rural community setting, with shifts running from 8a‑8a. Responsibilities and Duties Provide office‑based general surgery services to new and established patients of all ages, including initial consultations, performance of minor procedures, patient education, ordering diagnostic tests, and referral management. Perform operative (open and laparoscopic) and endoscopic procedures, with a focus on endoscopy. Conduct procedures such as anal sphincterotomy, anoscopy, appendectomies, and a range of breast procedures including ultrasound‑guided biopsies and mastectomies. Perform colonoscopies, cholecystectomies, and various colon surgeries including partial colectomies and ostomy creations. Manage debridement of burns, ulcers, or wounds, EGDs (screening, surveillance, diagnostic, and therapeutic), and foreign body removal. Undertake hemorrhoid procedures, various hernia repairs (inguinal, umbilical, ventral, incisional), and other intra‑abdominal procedures like Nissen fundoplication and small bowel resections. Place PEG and feeding tubes, and conduct skin and soft tissue procedures including excision of large lesions, I&D of large abscesses, pilonidal cystectomies, and skin grafts. Potentially perform limited vascular procedures such as toe amputations, Mediport placement or removal, and vein stripping. Additional Information Board Certification in General Surgery required. Shift hours are 8a‑8a.
