The Junior Buyer will play a key role in helping overhaul the corporate credit card and travel booking process by supporting the setup of a new program, gathering and entering employee information, and serving as a primary point of contact during the transition. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on purchasing experience while providing administrative and vendor support in a dynamic office environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of a new corporate credit card program by collecting relevant employee information, entering data into internal systems, and ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Assist employees with initial questions related to the new travel and credit card process, providing clear guidance and support throughout the transition.
• Complete administrative tasks and projects as requested to support management staff, working with minimal supervision and maintaining high standards of accuracy.
• Prepare invoice vouchers by matching purchase orders and quotes, verifying amounts for accuracy, obtaining necessary approvals, and forwarding completed documentation to Accounts Payable.
• Maintain and update user lists for all vendors to support effective vendor management and purchasing activities.
• Handle inquiries from field personnel, providing timely guidance, direction, and resolution to questions related to purchasing, data entry, and administrative processes.
• Maintain organized files and databases to ensure records are accurate, up to date, and easily accessible.
• Perform general administrative functions including handling mail, faxes, and telephone calls, and ensuring professional and efficient communication.
• Assist with additional duties and special projects as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a strong sense of initiative.
• Use Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet tools, to complete daily tasks and support reporting and documentation.
• Operate basic office equipment such as telephone, fax, printer, and copier to support day-to-day office functions.
• Manage multiple assignments concurrently, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Collaborate with a team of purchasing and administrative professionals, contributing to a strong customer service and results-oriented culture.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One or more years of experience using Microsoft Word and Excel (advanced skills not required).
• Experience in either purchasing or data entry, or administrative support.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid position based in Parsippany, with 3–4 days per week onsite and the remaining time worked from home. On onsite days, the workday typically begins at 9:00 a.m. in the office, with the afternoon completed remotely, while overall hours are approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The role is part of a team of nine, reporting into a director and working closely with experienced purchasing and administrative colleagues. The environment is professional, collaborative, and results-oriented, with regular use of Microsoft Office tools, standard office equipment, and online systems. This setting offers a supportive culture and the potential to grow into a permanent role for strong performers.

This is a Contract position based out of Parsippany, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
