Community Outreach/Tabling Volunteer for Nonprofit for Survivors

To empower all women to be the ultimate versions of themselves no matter what adversities they have faced and to change the stigmas around sexual and domestic abuse by offering therapy to survivors to heal and education for prevention. & Rise offers personal and professional development workshops, women's empowerment events, and weekly support groups for women who are sexual and domestic abuse survivors. Our vision is to provide single mothers who want to go to college with financial assistance for tuition, supplies, and childcare. Additionally, we plan to provide sexual and domestic abuse survivors with free therapy and counseling so they can overcome the emotional and mental blocks associated with their trauma to be the ultimate versions of themselves. Our organization believes women thrive on building and sustaining strong connections with one another, some of which assist in forming their futures. In order to help facilitate these bonds, we’re passionate about hosting events that highlight inspirational stories of triumph, encourage meaningful networking, and motivate all that attend to accomplish any and everything they want in life, personally or professionally. Our mission is to empower women and girls to be the ultimate versions of themselves despite their adversities. We offer free counseling, support groups, financial literacy workshops, and our youth programs. We are a community‑led organization that believes in the power of "rising" above adversity through support, education, and connection. The Role Why We Need You As an Outreach & Tabling Ambassador, you are the first point of connection between &Rise and the community. You will represent our organization at community health fairs, local festivals, schools, and partner events across Lake County. Your goal is to raise awareness, share our resources with survivors who need them, and engage potential donors and volunteers. Key Responsibilities Event Set‑Up & Teardown: transporting tabling materials (tablecloths, banners, flyers, and brochures) to and from event locations. Community Engagement: actively standing and greeting attendees; inviting strangers into a conversation about our mission. Resource Sharing: answering questions about &Rise’s programs (Support Groups, Counseling, NEST) and helping individuals find the right resources. Lead Collection: encouraging interested individuals to sign up for our newsletter or follow us on social media to stay connected. Requirements & Qualifications Communication Skills: must be outgoing, empathetic, and comfortable talking to strangers about sensitive topics (trauma‑informed training will be provided). Physical Stamina: ability to stand for 2–4 hours at a time and lift/carry tabling supplies (approx. 20 lbs). Reliable Transportation: must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license to travel to various sites throughout Lake County. Professionalism: we look for volunteers who are punctual, reliable, and passionate about women's empowerment.
