Registered Nurse, Med Surg-Neuro/Stroke/SPU, 36 Hours (Nights / Every Other Weekend/Holiday)

Position Summary Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical/7 West Department – Boston Medical Center (BMC). 36‑hour schedule with nights and every‑other weekend duty. The unit is a 38‑bed medical floor that cares for Neurology and Stroke patients and hosts the Special Pathogens Unit (SPU). Job Responsibilities Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and education of patients. Communicate with health‑care team members, patients, and families. Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues. Update and manage patient records. Enter and interpret computerized data/information. Follow BMC nursing policies and guidelines. Assist the leadership team in quality improvement projects. Job Requirements Licensed as a registered nurse in Massachusetts. At least 1 year of RN experience (preferred). BLS and ACLS certifications (ACLS required for certain units). Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years. Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty (certification required for certain practice areas). Effective verbal and written communication skills. Physical ability to meet job responsibilities. Basic computer proficiency. Fluency in another language is a plus.
