Deputy Head – QA/QC & Technical ServicesLittle Rock, ArkansasPosition OverviewAn established heavy industry manufacturing company is in need of a Deputy Head – QA/QC & Technical Services to be the active leader for quality within a diverse manufacturing setting. Reporting to the Head of QA/QC & Technical Services, this role will be crucial in translating quality strategy into day-to-day operations while supporting growth, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.This position is a prominent leadership role in the plant, requiring solid technical judgment, credibility with customers, and the ability to drive quality performance in several key functions.The ideal candidate should be comfortable on the factory floor, engaging with customers and third-party inspectors, as well as presenting to top-level management.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Operations LeadershipDirect daily QA/QC activities across various functions.Address quality challenges, testing delays, production issues, and compliance matters.Ensure adherence to inspection, testing, and compliance standards.Quality Systems & ComplianceEnsure compliance with industry and regulatory standards.Drive initiatives for continuous improvement and audit readiness.Maintain accurate documentation for audits and inspections.Inspection, Testing & Product ReleaseSupervise inspection programs from start to finish.Ensure timely release documentation and material certifications.Support various testing activities.Customer & Third-Party InterfaceAct as the main contact for customer interactions and quality investigations.Assist in customer approvals and resolving technical issues.Lead investigations and corrective actions for complaints.Operational Growth & IntegrationSupport quality initiatives for new capabilities and technologies.Ensure smooth integration while meeting customer standards.Leadership & Talent DevelopmentDevelop quality teams and establish training programs.Build competency matrices and succession plans.Act on behalf of the Head of QA/QC when necessary.QualificationsRequired ExperienceOver a decade of quality leadership experience in heavy manufacturing.5+ years managing plant-level QA/QC operations.Proven track record in customer-facing quality roles.Technical ExpertiseStrong knowledge of industry-specific quality systems.Experience with quality plans, inspection procedures, and testing methods.Familiarity with NDT techniques.Leadership ProfileHands-on leader with operational acumen.Ability to make tough decisions under pressure.Excellent communication skills.Success in building strong quality teams.Digital & Continuous ImprovementExperience with quality management tools and data analysis.Ability to use data for improving quality performance.Education (Required)Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.
