Senior Commercial Paralegal We are looking for an experienced Senior Commercial Paralegal who will deliver high‑quality services and work with other professionals on a fast‑paced legal team. The individual must be self‑directed with demonstrated professionalism and a true desire to develop an effective working relationship with colleagues and have the ability and judgment to manage end‑to‑end processes with little supervision. Flexibility, confidence, integrity and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality and the ability to interface with clients and co‑workers in a professional, approachable, and positive manner are essential. Responsibilities: Provide dedicated programmatic support for the TerraPower lawyers and report to the Associate General Counsel. Prepare drafts of agreements, with a focus on confidentiality agreements, and handle both routine and first‑line non‑routine contract review and negotiations (including confidentiality agreements) in consultation with the TerraPower lawyers. Work collaboratively across various departments on contracts, including confidentiality agreements, to support business objectives and legal department’s goals. Provide end‑to‑end processes primarily for procurement contract and confidentiality agreement reviews. Create and format documents electronically including letters, memos, status reports, presentations (PowerPoint), spreadsheets (Excel), and other related documents. Provide legal support for TerraPower government contracts and grants and associated compliance requirements. Prepare updates to and provide administration of legal policies and procedures in consultation with the TerraPower lawyers. Provide support for the creation of, and updates to, standard contract templates for TerraPower’s business. File, track and update a variety of business and legal templates and documents. Understand the nature of the business in order to provide value‑added service and enhance working relationships. Facilitate daily contact with TerraPower lawyers and other TerraPower personnel via email and phone. Coordinate with TerraPower lawyers to meet business objectives and the TerraPower legal department’s goals and objectives. Manage external work with outside lawyers and others regarding matters on which the TerraPower legal team is working. Initiate and sustain continuous improvement in TerraPower contracting advice, negotiations, templates, drafting, implementation and management, undertaking negotiations and contract management when needed. Initiate and implement technological improvements to streamline legal review and support. Determine priority and respond appropriately, and coordinate communications with stakeholders, making recommendations as needed regarding appropriate action and follow‑up. Conduct legal and other research as requested (electronic and other resources), creating deliverables ready to share directly with other functions within TerraPower. Provide back‑up support to TerraPower lawyers and other legal team members. Track and coordinate other matters for the TerraPower legal team. Participate actively in group meetings to understand short‑and‑long‑term goals of the legal team and the business. Coordinate communication and service requests from various parts of the TerraPower business. Assist Associate General Counsel in preparing and delivering best practices materials and training to TerraPower organization as part of new employee orientation and other matters. Perform other tasks and projects as requested from time to time by the TerraPower lawyers and in support of the TerraPower business. Key Qualifications and Skills: 10+ years or equivalent level legal support experience, preferably in a fast‑paced and challenging environment in a company. Bachelor’s degree required; additional professional certifications, up to and including a J.D. a plus. Knowledge and experience with contracting, corporate and legal principles required. Familiarity with intellectual property and licensing a plus. Experience providing programmatic successes across and in support of organizational success, including technology improvements for the legal function. Ability to make solid business decisions, manage end‑to‑end processes, think ahead, problem‑solve, and multi‑task in a highly dynamic work environment. Ability to work in a team setting and conduct and present oneself in a highly professional manner and with integrity in dealing with both internal and external clients and personnel. Proven ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality and objectivity. Proven ability to work independently with little or no supervision. Ability to receive and provide constructive feedback on work performance. Ability to accurately keyboard at 50+ wpm. Scrupulous attention to detail and excellent drafting and proofreading skills. High level of proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; familiarity with SharePoint a plus. Excellent organizational, analytical, filing, and prioritization skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to multi‑task in a dynamic environment. Ability to execute a high volume and broad scope of tasks. Job Functions: Motor Abilities: Sitting for extended periods, bending/stooping, grasping/gripping, fine motor control (hands). Physical exertion and/or requirements: Minimal, with ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds. Special Senses: Visual and audio focused work. Work Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting working environment of >8 hours per day. Travel required: 0–10%. Job details Salary Range: $117,922 – $176,833. This range is specific to Washington State. We typically place offers in the lower to middle portion of the range to maintain internal equity and allow room for growth. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual’s qualifications and experience.
