Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary-aged students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in a vibrant school setting near Arlington Heights, IL. This position involves covering a maternity leave beginning August 17 (or as soon as possible) through September 28, working onsite for 21 to 28 hours per week across 3 to 4 days.

You'll provide targeted occupational therapy services to students in line with their Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals. Close collaboration with special education staff and classroom teams will be central to your role, helping foster functional skills and classroom participation within self-contained autism programs. Your expertise will promote student success in both academic and daily functional tasks.

Desired Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant training program.
• Current certification (or eligibility for certification) through the Board of Registry of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
• Licensed or eligible for Occupational Therapist Licensure in the State of Illinois.
• Previous pediatric or school-based experience is highly valued.
• Enthusiasm for working within collaborative educational teams and supporting diverse learners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy interventions and supports as documented in IEPs.
• Assess and monitor students’ progress, documenting outcomes and making data-driven recommendations.
• Consult regularly with teachers, therapists, and school staff to align therapy approaches with classroom strategies.
• Support students in building independence, motor skills, and adaptive behaviors for greater classroom engagement.
