Position Summary

We are seeking a passionate and responsible Host to join our team at Auntie Xita Temple City. This role is a key part of our front of house operations, ensuring excellent customer service, efficiency, and adherence to company standards.

Employment Details

• Work Location: 5701 Rosemead Blvd, Temple City, CA 91780 
• Employment Type: Part-Time, Full-Time
• Wage: Starting at $16.9 per hour plus tips, subject to applicable federal, state, and local tax withholdings.

• Start Date: Upon onboarding completion. All required pre-employment notices and documents will be provided at or before the start date, as required by law.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival and create a professional, welcoming first impression.
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and accurately estimate wait times
• Guide guests to their tables and provide menus and basic information
• Communicate clearly with all staff regarding new parties and seating flow
• Answer phone calls professionally and assist with reservations, large party inquiries, and general guest questions.
• Monitor the host stand, entrance area, and dining room flow to support smooth front-of-house operations.
• Handle guest concerns with urgency, empathy, and professionalism, and escalate issues to management when needed.
• Optimize seating assignments to evenly distribute workload among servers
• Follow daily checklists, SOPs, and company policies
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional host area at all times.
• Assist the front-of-house team as needed during busy service periods.
• Remain punctual, organized, positive, and able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in hospitality; Hotpot, BBQ, Japanese cuisine, or high-volume restaurant experience preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including phone etiquette and conflict resolution
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and organized during busy service periods.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage guest flow in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, punctuality, and reliability.
• Passion for providing excellent service and creating memorable dining experiences.
• Flexible availability, including late-night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the dining area for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow company policies, schedules, SOPs, and safety procedures.
• Fluent in English. Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
