See our benefits summary below.POSITION SUMMARY:The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for managing day-to-day accounts payable activities, ensuring invoices are processed accurately and payments are completed in a timely manner. This role works closely with internal teams and external vendors to resolve discrepancies, maintain accurate records, and support financial operations. The position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and a commitment to excellent service.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Process and verify invoices for accuracy, proper approval, and account codingMaintain timely and accurate entry of accounts payable transactions in company systemsCommunicate with vendors and internal teams to resolve invoice discrepancies or payment issuesMonitor vendor accounts and reconcile balances as neededEnsure payments are made in accordance with agreed terms and company policiesRespond to vendor inquiries and provide support in a professional and timely mannerAssist with audits, reporting, and preparation of required financial documents (e.g., 1099s)Support cross-functional collaboration with accounting and other departmentsProvide backup support within the accounting team as neededParticipate in system updates, process improvements, and other departmental initiativesPerforms other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience1–3+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience preferredBasic knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processesProficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systemsStrong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skillsEffective communication and problem-solving abilitiesStrong customer service mindset and ability to work collaboratively across teamsNote: Job responsibilities may change over time based on business needs.About Furst-McNess Company:For more than a century, Furst‑McNess Company has been a trusted leader in animal nutrition, delivering innovative feed, mineral, and management solutions to livestock producers across the United States.
