Job Overview and Qualifications

The role involves delivering professional nursing care to patients by utilizing the nursing process. Collaboration with other healthcare team members, including physicians, is essential to ensure quality health care delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate the patient's condition upon admission and during each scheduled shift, swiftly identifying and reporting any changes in their status.
• Carry out procedures, monitoring, or other tasks as directed by medical providers, ensuring comprehensive and timely documentation of care in the patient's medical record.
• Administer prescribed medications, observe the patient for therapeutic responses, and take necessary actions in case of any adverse reactions.
• Deliver outstanding care by promptly addressing patient requests, anticipating their needs, and resolving any issues that arise.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plans, medications, potential side effects, and follow-up actions, ensuring clarity by simplifying complex medical terms.

Required Qualifications:

Licensure/Certifications:

• Active Registered Nursing License in Texas or a Compact state—Required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification—Required.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing Science—Preferred.
• Associate degree or Diploma in Nursing—Required.

Certifications, Experience, Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing—Preferred.
• Medical Surgical ANCC Certification—Preferred.
• Ability to read and write basic English—Required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills—Required.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities—Required.
• Capacity to listen, empathize, and respond to the needs of patients, families, and both internal and external partners—Required.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency—Required.
