Heavy Equipment MechanicMelvindale, MichiganWe are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Equipment Maintenance Technician for a premier provider of industrial equipment solutions.This is a Direct Hire opportunity for a technician who excels in the maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of large-scale mechanical assets and customer equipment.The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing preventative maintenance programs and ensuring the operational readiness of specialized machinery within a high-volume logistics and terminal environment.Key Responsibilities:Maintenance & Repair: Perform complex repairs and routine servicing on a variety of company-owned and customer-facing heavy industrial equipment.System Diagnostics: Utilize extensive knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.Safety & Compliance: Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and department policies to ensure a zero-accident work environment.Field Operations: Complete daily site activities, including work orders, timekeeping, and detailed maintenance record-keeping.Parts Coordination: Collaborate with Purchasing and Parts departments to identify and source necessary components for equipment uptime.Logistics: Monitor and maintain inventory of company-owned assets, tools, and specialized equipment.Working Conditions:Outdoor Environment: Ability to work comfortably in various weather elements (heat, cold, rain, etc.) within a large-scale industrial yard.Height Requirements: Must be comfortable working at heights of up to 80 feet using man baskets or aerial lifts.Availability: Must be willing to work overtime as assigned and participate in a standard On-Call rotation to support customer needs.What We Offer:Direct Hire Placement: Stability with a leading national organization.Top-Tier Benefits: An industry-leading benefits package with exceptionally low employee premiums.Professional Growth: Opportunity to work on diverse, high-value industrial machinery.Schedule is 1st shift, Monday-Friday. The pay rate is $32-38/hour, depending on experience.Required Skills & Qualifications:Experience: Minimum of 5 years of maintenance and repair experience, specifically with 2+ years focused on heavy equipment (e.g., steel mill machinery, large-scale hydraulics, or similar "yellow iron").Technical Proficiency: Extensive expertise in hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, and various OEM platforms.Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and remain mobile throughout a full shift.Administrative Skills: Intermediate computer skills and a high level of detail in record-keeping and maintenance documentation.Education: High school diploma or equivalent.Trillium has been recruiting and placing professionals for over 30 years.
