Radiology Department Assistant
Under the general direction of the Supervisor of Radiology, Director of Imaging Services, and Senior Technologist greets patients and visitors in the Radiology Department. Ascertains the patient's needs and directs them accordingly. Clerical duties and procedures relating to in-patient and outpatient paper flow, file room, scheduling examinations and performs other related duties to ensure efficient and effective daily operations. Maintains a high level of initiative, dependability, and motivation. Communicates effectively and exhibits sound judgment in patient safety and treats all individuals with professionalism and respect.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Supplementary commercial school/college course in typing, computer technology, medical terminology are desirable. Six (6) months experience as Unit secretary, Medical assistant or Physician's receptionist preferred. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for patients/families of all ages.
Excellent attitude, interpersonal skills and communication abilities necessary to interact with patients, physicians and other hospital associates.
