Instrument and controls technician

job summary:
An Instrument & Controls Technician is needed for a leading manufacturing organization in Fairburn, GA. The I&C Technician is responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of high-speed packaging equipment. In this role, you'll be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex electrical issues, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting automation systems critical to our manufacturing operations.

Qualified candidates will have experience with PLCs, servo motor drives, HMIs, and robotic systems. A background in industrial electrical systems, along with the ability to interpret technical diagrams and documentation, is essential. Familiarity with AB, Siemens, and GE PLCs, HMI terminals, and robotic systems (Fanuc/ABB). Candidates should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, with a strong focus on safety and quality. Out client has openings on the night shift. These are 12 hours shifts, with OT available. Our client is only seeking local talent at this time.

responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair electrical issues on high-speed packaging equipment
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems
• Maintain and troubleshoot AB, Siemens, and GE PLCs, HMI terminals, and robotic systems (Fanuc/ABB)
• Read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics
• Maintain accurate records using maintenance management software
• Support team-based troubleshooting and share technical knowledge

qualifications:
Have a basic knowledge of electronics and electrical theories, including digital circuitry, AC/DC theory, microprocessors, and logic systems.

Can work independently and use judgement to make effective and timely decisions.

Can work as a member of an electrical team and communicate technical information to other personnel.

Are comfortable working on a computer and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
