Research Project Manager

Position Summary The Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks an organized, collaborative professional to work across multiple projects focused on increasing the adoption of evidence-based interventions for cancer prevention and control in community clinic settings across North Carolina. The role will maintain strategies and infrastructure to support research and community engagement that are essential in translating evidence-based research into population health practice across the state. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day operations of the CAPRICORN initiative, engaging community clinic partners in lasting research and practice partnerships with UNC Lineberger. Build and maintain strong relationships among UNC Lineberger researchers, community clinics, and state/regional advocacy and professional associations. Plan and implement training and technical assistance services in support of clinic-based quality improvement efforts. Manage database and other administrative activities. Manage selected research studies focused on increasing cancer screening and adoption of evidence-based population health strategies in primary care practice. Develop and monitor study timelines, submit IRB submissions and renewals, and ensure regulatory compliance. Assist in the development of data collection instruments and participate in data collection. Coordinate and facilitate research team meetings. Contribute to funding proposals, manuscripts, presentations, and reports. Collaborate with team members and collaborators to integrate work into final products. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Relevant post‑Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent). Candidates with a relevant Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and three or more years of relevant experience may be considered. May require terminal degree and licensure. Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Budget and regulatory compliance management Quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Experience planning and managing cancer prevention and control interventions. Experience conducting independent community‑engaged population health research, including planning, implementing, and evaluating public health interventions. Strong writing, speaking, presenting, training, and group facilitation skills. Proficiency using computer software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as statistical software such as SAS, STATA, or SPSS.
