Senior Accountant

Position Senior Accountant Summary The Senior Accountant will provide general accounting support for operations at the Greenwood, Indiana facility of a global manufacturing leader. The position is responsible for key accounting functions including general ledger accounting, month-end and year-end close processes, account reconciliations, financial reporting, inventory and cost accounting, fixed assets, intercompany transactions, and audit support. Additionally, this role plays a critical part in supporting financial operations and providing supervision and guidance for Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P) activities. Essential Duties General Accounting & Financial Reporting Reconcile sub-ledger accounts to general ledger balances. Prepare and review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations. Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement, and budget variance analyses. Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and management analyses, and assist with all financial reporting activities. Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, payroll, intercompany transactions, and other month-end adjustments. Review A/R and A/P balances and approve batches prior to posting. Review collection activities and assist in researching and reconciling discrepancies, maintaining minimal Payment on Account (POA) balances, and monitoring/maintaining an appropriate Accounts Payable Aging Report. Establish and maintain new customer accounts, and process order hold release requests. Fixed Assets, Tax & Compliance Maintain and reconcile fixed asset records, as well as prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances. Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and schedules. Prepare state sales and use tax filings, assist with tax return preparation, and complete/comply with government census reporting requirements. Supervisory & Additional Responsibilities Provide direct supervision of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Collection Associates. Perform special projects and other accounting-related assignments as requested. Working Hours & Working Style Full-time (Office environment / Open office setting) Physical requirements: Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer, communicate effectively, review detailed information on screens and documents, and occasionally bend, kneel, or lift items weighing up to 15 pounds. Working Location Greenwood, Indiana Salary / Benefit Base Annual Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
