Our client, a leading national retailer known for delivering innovative consumer products and exceptional shopping experiences, is seeking a Category Marketing Specialist to support packaging and brand marketing initiatives. This role is responsible for translating brand, business, and packaging strategies into effective creative briefs that drive engaging consumer experiences.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders to ensure packaging solutions align with brand objectives, consumer insights, and business goals. As a Category Marketing Specialist, you will serve as a key connector between strategy, operations, and execution across packaging initiatives. You will work closely with teams across brand management, creative, merchandising, production design, project management, marketing, strategy, operations, and consumer insights to deliver packaging solutions that strengthen brand presence and improve the customer experience.
Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and translate brand, business, and packaging strategies into clear and actionable creative briefs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Brand Management, Creative, Merchandising, Marketing, and Insights, to align project objectives and execution.
• Leverage consumer insights, market trends, and competitive intelligence to identify opportunities that enhance brand communication and consumer engagement.
• Support the development and implementation of packaging strategies that align with brand positioning and ensure consistency across product categories and channels.
• Partner with internal and global stakeholders to manage project priorities, timelines, budgets, and associated risks.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals, resources, and deliverables.
• Facilitate working sessions, establish project context, and drive collaboration among stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress and financials while supporting successful execution from concept through implementation.
• Optimize packaging experiences to strengthen brand perception and support business objectives.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in marketing, brand management, category marketing, packaging, project management, or a related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze complex information and communicate findings clearly to diverse audiences.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience supporting packaging, brand, consumer products, or retail marketing initiatives.
• Familiarity with consumer insights, market research, and competitive analysis.
• Experience coordinating projects involving multiple internal departments and external partners.
• Knowledge of creative development processes and packaging execution workflows.
• Experience managing project budgets, timelines, and risk mitigation activities.
