About the Opportunity Our client is a leading manufacturer of electrical control systems specializing in the monitoring and control of water, sewage, and wastewater systems. Their solutions support residential, commercial, municipal, and industrial customers across the United States. We are seeking an experienced Benefits Specialist to take ownership of company-wide benefits administration and employee leave programs. This is a highly visible role supporting approximately 600–700 employees across 13 U.S. locations while partnering with leadership, vendors, and employees to deliver an exceptional benefits experience. Key Responsibilities Manage and administer all company-wide benefits and leave programs. Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and support. Oversee benefits administration for approximately 600–700 employees. Partner with external vendors to ensure effective benefits administration and service delivery. Collaborate with internal teams on safety programs, committees, and special HR initiatives. Lead and support annual open enrollment planning and execution. Travel to company locations during open enrollment to educate employees and present benefit offerings. Support newly acquired locations with onboarding, benefits communication, and employee education. QualificationsRequired 5+ years of experience focused primarily on benefits administration. Experience managing benefits programs for 500+ employees in a mid-sized or large organization. Strong experience partnering with third‑party benefits vendors. Knowledge of multi‑state benefits regulations and compliance requirements. Excellent communication, presentation, and employee relations skills. Ability to travel extensively during peak enrollment periods, particularly in November. Preferred Experience with UKG UltiPro. Experience working with Principal retirement/401(k) plans. Familiarity with Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) insurance programs. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Birmingham, AL.
