Production Worker, 2nd Shift - Point of Rocks, MD

Job Overview We are looking for self‑motivated and safety‑conscious candidates who would like to join our production team. New employees can earn $82,000 in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 50‑hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses. There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives. Position is full‑time with benefits. Shift Schedule 2nd Shift Schedule: Monday – Friday 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM; Saturday 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Occasional weekend availability needed. Must be able to work all schedules. Location 4010 Clay Street, Point of Rocks, Maryland 21777, United States Anticipated Pay Range $20.07 /hour + production bonuses and OT as needed. Duties and Responsibilities Performs production welding in a fast‑paced environment. Read and interpret weld symbols on shop drawings and blueprints. Ensures that all welds are complete and of good quality; repair bad welds as necessary. Maintains a positive, clean and orderly work environment. Performs daily cleaning and maintenance of area. Works in a safe and productive manner. Performs other job‑related duties as assigned by supervisor including but not limited to cleaning, steel scrap removal, and other production related jobs. Career Requirements High School diploma or general education degree (GED). One to three years of experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions. Physical Requirements Ability to stand continuously, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Frequently reach overhead with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl. Climb or balance frequently. Capable of lifting 60 lbs or more. Close, distant, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment Open shop environment – may be exposed to cold and hot work spaces. Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. Noise in the work environment is generally very loud.
