Abdominal Transplant Surgeons

The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Transplant Surgery, is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank. These positions are oriented toward multi-organ practice with primary focus on liver transplantation. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications. The Transplant Institute has nationally recognized research and education programs that build on collaborations throughout the University and is active in clinical operations and quality improvement in the Medical Center. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: have a medical doctorate or equivalent hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois be Board certified or eligible by the American Board of Surgery or the foreign equivalent We especially welcome applicants who have completed an ASTS fellowship or equivalent and have at least five years of practice as faculty at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank. Additionally, we welcome applicants with strong translational research backgrounds and high potential to achieve independent funding.
