UTS-Temporary Statistician Investigator at UNC Chapel Hill The department at Chapel Hill is seeking a data analyst/statistician at or above the master’s degree level to work with a collaborative team of investigators and perform statistical analyses to aid trauma survivors. The primary focus will be to assist with analyses of longitudinal data from the ~$35 million AURORA study, funded by NIMH and private partners. Study participants were followed for one year using adaptive sampling and a range of self-report, neurocognitive, physiological, digital phenotype, psychosocial, neuroimaging, and genomic markers. The statistician will also analyze data from other R01 studies and clinical trial data. Responsibilities Develop scripts/code to streamline and optimize analyses. Write and edit analytic methods for peer-reviewed publications and summarize results for stakeholders. Assist with analyses of varied longitudinal data from the AURORA study. Maintain metadata regarding databases and work performed. Develop analysis plans in collaboration with research team members. Qualifications Master’s degree in a social science, applied science, clinical science, epidemiology or closely related discipline required; PhD preferred. Foreign equivalent degrees considered. Demonstrated experience conducting advanced statistical analyses and ability to learn new analytical methods. Experience with structural equation modeling (SEM) strongly preferred. Proficiency in statistical programming and analysis software, including R; experience with Mplus preferred. Scientific writing ability, including contributions to peer-reviewed manuscripts, technical reports, or research publications. Experience working in clinical, epidemiological, or multidisciplinary research environments preferred. Proven ability to collaborate effectively as part of interdisciplinary teams. Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, datasets and project timelines. Ability to analyze complex longitudinal data, including cleaning, structuring, and interpreting multi-timepoint datasets. Experience with bioinformatics research, including working with biological, clinical, or molecular datasets. 2–5+ years of experience in quantitative research, advanced statistical analysis, or applied data science in academic, clinical, epidemiological, or research settings preferred.
