If so, consider being an Order Builder for the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. Join our friendly, collaborative, and hardworking operations team, reporting to the Operations Manager. The Order Builder is responsible for building pallets and other warehouse duties as needed in support of the Operations team.What You Would Be Doing Right NowSafety:Demonstrate adherence to safety through consistent actions in line with safety expectations and adherence to all related policies and proceduresEnsure safety policy is followed by all staff when carrying out all day-to-day activitiesPromote excellent food safety practices and adherence to SF-Marin Food Bank policies and procedures per federal/state regulations (USDA, FDA, etc.) including AIB and Feeding America standardsPhysical:Regularly sitting or standing on a powered industrial truckFrequently lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of timeA good sense of balanceGood eye-hand-foot coordinationAbility to assess weights and judge distances and heightsAbility to work in varying temperatures (cooler, freezer, etc.)Culture:Support a culture of safety firstDemonstrate and continue to exhibit a working environment with a foundation of mutual respect, trust, fairness, flexibility, honesty, accountability, and engagementOperations:Build pallets/orders as needed/directed to support successful order fulfillmentAssist in maintaining an organized warehouse that maximizes space and efficiency while promoting a sanitary and safe work environmentUse material handling equipment (stand up forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) to move product and materials from/to designated locations to support activities in an efficient and safe mannerAssist the daily housekeeping and maintenance of the warehouse and other material handling equipmentAdheres to all policies and procedures relating to product age and qualityAccurately complete all paperwork for menu ordersMaintain an organized and sanitary facility following AIB standardsMonitor equipment condition and maintenancePerform other duties and tasks as required or instructed by Supervisor or supervisor representative (Lead or Senior Lead)What Else You Should KnowAll internal candidates must apply using their Food Bank work email within 10 business days of posting to be considered. This role is scheduled to work Monday – Friday from 3:00-11:30pm.Position covered by OPEIU Local 29 Bargaining Unit.Salary: The position is full-time. The starting salary for this position is $25.62-$26.37 in addition to a $1.00 shift differential, with exact salary depending on experience.Benefits: All positions are offered generous holiday and sick time as well as retirement savings.
