Agriculture & Farmer Partnerships Representative Contract-2-Leadership
Verde Nexus Global
Job Description
Job Description
90-Day Project-Based Contract | Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill Area | Hybrid
Company Overview
Verde Nexus is building a globally scalable ecosystem connecting AI-enabled education, workforce development, sustainability, agriculture, digital commerce, institutional partnerships, affiliate infrastructure, and marketplace opportunities.
The Verde Nexus platform is designed for global reach across 47+ countries and 22+ languages , integrating education, technology, sustainable commerce, entrepreneurship, workforce opportunity, and international market development.
Our operating strategy is global by design and local by execution. Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina serves as Verde Nexus’s initial U.S. flagship pilot market, where we are developing measurable workforce, agriculture, institutional-buyer, procurement, and economic-development relationships that can ultimately be replicated in additional domestic and international markets.
About the Role
The Agriculture & Farmer Partnerships Representative will build and activate the agricultural partner network supporting Verde Nexus’s flagship pilot.
This individual will identify and develop relationships with farmers, growers, cooperatives, producer associations, agricultural organizations, extension networks, food-system organizations, and qualified sustainable-product suppliers.
The role goes beyond general outreach. The Representative will help determine whether agricultural partners possess the capacity, consistency, infrastructure, product availability, documentation, and operational readiness necessary to participate in Verde Nexus workforce initiatives, institutional-buyer opportunities, procurement pathways, and marketplace activity.
This is a field-oriented partnership role requiring credibility with producers, strong documentation practices, disciplined follow-up, and the ability to translate farmer needs into actionable opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify farms, growers, cooperatives, producer associations, agricultural networks, food-system organizations, extension resources, and qualified sustainable suppliers.
- Develop relationships with farmers and producer communities throughout the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill region and surrounding agricultural markets.
- Conduct outreach and secure qualified meetings with agricultural decision-makers and producer networks.
- Recruit qualified agricultural partners for Verde Nexus Pilot 1 — Workforce + Agriculture Training Pipeline and Pilot 2 — Institutional Buyer Pilot .
- Assess producer and supplier readiness, including product categories, production capacity, seasonal availability, volume, fulfillment capability, certifications where applicable, logistics considerations, and growth constraints.
- Maintain reliable producer-capacity and supply information.
- Identify agricultural partners that may qualify for institutional purchasing opportunities involving schools, universities, healthcare systems, corporations, distributors, and other buyers.
- Support introductions between qualified producers and institutional/buyer partnership representatives.
- Identify qualified farmers, producers, and sustainable businesses for potential participation within Verde Nexus’s marketplace ecosystem.
- Gather field intelligence regarding farmer needs, supply challenges, market-access barriers, workforce needs, training needs, and growth opportunities.
- Support agricultural education, workforce-development, and community-engagement initiatives associated with the pilot.
- Coordinate with the Workforce Partnerships Representative, Institutional/Buyer Partnerships Representative, Global Pilot & Strategic Partnerships Lead, and Global Operations & Partnerships Coordinator.
- Maintain accurate partner records, meeting notes, readiness assessments, documentation, next actions, and pipeline stages within the designated CRM.
- Participate in farm visits, agricultural events, producer meetings, community events, and relevant industry gatherings.
- Provide consistent reporting on agricultural pipeline development and measurable partner outcomes.
What Success Looks Like
Success includes:
- Qualified farms and producer organizations entering the partnership pipeline.
- Agricultural partners activated for Pilot 1 and/or Pilot 2.
- Accurate documentation of producer capacity and readiness.
- Reliable supply information available for institutional-buyer conversations.
- Qualified sustainable vendor-marketplace prospects.
- Relationships progressing from outreach to meetings, assessment, onboarding, introductions, and agreements.
- Institutional-buyer-ready agricultural partners.
- Documented farmer workforce, training, logistics, and market-access needs.
- Consistent CRM activity and follow-up.
- Strong trust and credibility within producer communities.
Ideal Candidate
Strong candidates may have experience in:
- Agriculture or agribusiness.
- Farming or producer relations.
- Food systems.
- Agricultural extension.
- Cooperative development.
- Supplier development.
- Agricultural procurement.
- Farm-to-institution programs.
- Sustainable or regenerative agriculture.
- Organic food/product markets.
- Community development.
- Field sales or partnership development involving agricultural stakeholders.
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Ability to build authentic relationships and credibility with farmers and producer communities.
- Understanding of agricultural operations, seasonality, production capacity, supply constraints, and market access.
- Strong stakeholder-engagement and community-outreach abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Ability to explain digital, marketplace, procurement, and institutional opportunities in practical language.
- Strong research and documentation discipline.
- Ability to collect reliable producer information without damaging relationship trust.
- Comfort using CRM systems, spreadsheets, virtual-meeting platforms, and basic reporting tools.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with a distributed team.
- Strong judgment, follow-through, and attention to detail.
- Interest in sustainable agriculture, food systems, economic mobility, workforce development, and technology-enabled commerce.
An associate or bachelor’s degree in agriculture, agribusiness, environmental studies, sustainability, food systems, business, or a related discipline is welcomed, but relevant field experience and demonstrated results may substitute for formal education.
Local Mobility
Because this is a boots-on-the-ground partnership role , candidates should be able to travel throughout the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill region and surrounding agricultural communities for appropriate farm visits, meetings, events, and partner-development activities.
Reliable transportation appropriate to the responsibilities of the role will be necessary.
Engagement & Compensation
This position begins as a 90-day project-based contract engagement during Verde Nexus’s pilot and capital-development stage.
Compensation terms will be defined in writing before services begin and may include:
- milestone/performance -based compensation for defined qualifying outcomes; and
- 3%–5% participation in directly sourced eligible commercial revenue generated through approved agricultural, supplier, marketplace, purchasing, or other qualifying commercial relationships.
Percentage-based compensation does not apply to charitable donations, charitable grant awards, or investment capital.
Verde Nexus is implementing a funding-triggered compensation progression . As usable operating capital and sustainable revenue are received, high-performing contractors may be considered for increased project compensation, recurring retainers, expanded geographic or leadership responsibility, and ultimately funded salaried roles when sufficient operating runway exists.
Strong performers may receive priority consideration for future regional, agricultural partnership, supplier-development, or market-expansion leadership opportunities.
Any future salaried position would require a separate written employment offer and is not guaranteed.
How to Apply
Applicants should submit a résumé or LinkedIn profile and be prepared to answer:
- How would you evaluate whether a farmer or producer is ready to participate in an institutional-buyer pilot?
- What factors commonly cause farmer, producer, or agricultural partnerships to fail?
- How would you build trust with a farmer while still collecting reliable information about production capacity, availability, logistics, and readiness?
- What experience do you have working directly with farmers, producer organizations, food systems, agricultural suppliers, or cooperatives?
- How would you identify farmers or producers capable of supplying an institutional buyer consistently?
