Software Engineer

Description: 

ENG- Develop embedded vehicle management software supporting current and future aircraft platforms throughout the software development lifecycle. Perform software design, implementation, integration, and flight test activities while collaborating within an Agile development environment. Support avionics and mission systems software development across laboratory, simulation, and operational platforms.

#Education & Job Requirements

*Bachelor's degree with 9-15 years of experience or a Master's degree with 7-13 years of experience
*5+ years of recent experience with C preferred or 7+ years of embedded C++, Linux, developing software for embedded systems
*3+ years of experience using Git and one or more Agile software development tools, including Bitbucket, Jira, VersionOne, Confluence, or GitLab
*2-3 years of experience with Python
*Demonstrated experience working in an Agile software development environment
*Possess strong oral, written, and presentation skills
*Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
*Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

#Preferred Skills

*Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), Systems Engineering processes, including requirements development, use cases, and data flows
*Experience integrating hardware and software, and automated test methodologies
*Experience with networking protocols, including IP, UDP, and RTP
*Experience with Vehicle Management System (VMS) architectures
*Experience with safety and flight-critical software development processes, including MIL-STD-516C, MIL-HDBK-1797, or AC-17-01
*Ability to build and maintain relationships while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

*Develop embedded software for vehicle management systems supporting current and future aircraft platforms
*Generate software and system requirements throughout the development lifecycle
*Design software solutions for embedded avionics applications
*Implement software functionality using approved development processes
*Integrate software with laboratory environments, simulated systems, physical hardware, and live aircraft assets
*Support flight test activities for embedded software validation
*Collaborate with Agile software development teams to deliver program objectives
*Contribute to avionics services, ground station development, and mission systems software technologies
*Adapt to changing project priorities within a fast-paced engineering environment
